Pure Line 2.0

With PURE LINE 2.0, Villeroy & Boch Tiles presents the next step in the sustainable evolution of one of the most successful architectural ranges in the larger product range of porcelain stoneware: With its minimalist design, the new, comprehensive colour and format system offers attractive design solutions and creative latitude for planners in the discerning commercial and private sector.

The design of PURE LINE 2.0 places special emphasis on sustainability: True to the maxim of ‘sustainably improving on good products’, PURE LINE 2.0 stands for mindful conservation of resources. Because with an innovative production process that conserves valuable precious raw materials, these high-quality tiles make an important contribution to environmental protection even during production.

The conventional production of full-body-coloured tiles from porcelain stoneware that are also suitable for use in high-traffic areas calls for great amounts of rare raw materials that are available in limited quantities in nature. In the case OF PURE LINE 2.0, these materials are concentrated in just the top, colouring part of the tile body, which is approx. 2 mm thick. The bottom part of the tile body is rarely visible once installed and requires only limited colouring. This way, fewer raw materials can be used without restricting the design options for the tiles.

In addition, no synthetic adhesive is used in the transport packaging, so it can be disposed of as ordinary waste paper. The PET tape used can be recycled as one would any commercially available disposable-beverage bottle.

PURE LINE 2.0 is a comprehensive, all-purpose colour and format concept made of unglazed VilboStone porcelain stoneware. The simple, matt finish meets the requirements of the R10 B slip-resistance classes, making it ideally suited for use in areas in which constant moisture is expected. These slip-resistance properties are created through a subtle relief structure that not only feels soft to the touch but is also particularly easy to clean, thanks to the ceramic surface protection of Vilbostone Plus.

There are several basic-tile formats to choose from: 30 x 60 cm, 60 x 60 cm, as well as 30 x 120 cm, 60 x 120 cm and 120 x 120 cm. These are complemented by modular cut formats in 7.5 x 60 cm and 15 x 60 cm, together with the mosaic in 7.5 x 7.5-cm format. A 30 x 120-cm stair tread for use in stairwells features milled grooves and a rounded front edge.

The system consists of two colour lines, each with four light-dark graduations: a warm-toned colour line with ivory, sand beige, clay brown and earth brown; and a cool-hued line consisting of foggy grey, cement grey, concrete grey and asphalt grey. The coordinated colour lines enable individual combinations of colour – harmoniously installed tone-on-tone to match the room concept, or to create contrasting surfaces.

With a thickness of 12 mm, all of the formats in PURE LINE 2.0 – from the 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm format mosaics to the large 120 x 120 cm format – meet the requirements of wear-resistance group 3. This is the high strength prescribed for tiles in commercial and industrial buildings, such as shopping arcades, food, retail or wholesale stores and heavily frequented areas such as railway stations and airports.

Expressive, timeless-modern and urban-minimalist designs are possible with PURE LINE 2.0. In addition to a wide variety of applications in public and semi-public buildings, PURE LINE 2.0 also offers interesting options for exclusive private homes of architecturally oriented private building owners.
